LO4: Edit decision list

LO4:Drafts

This is the first draft for the film trailer. There are several things that will be changed for the second draft for the trailer. Mainly the aspect ratio, as it changes halfway through the draft and the rest of the trailer is left with a black border. Some of these clips are bad due to the way they were shot and the acting in them, these will need to be re-shot. The opening shot will need to be re-shot with better lighting as it is difficult to see what is actually happening in the shot.

This draft was a little better, we experimented with jumpcuts a little which I think worked well particularly at 0:23.  Some clips don't make any sense and so need to be removed and the final shot is too long and has no worth, so that also needs to edited or removed.

In this draft we began to edit the colour to give the trailer a more dramatic feel, the beginning of this draft will most likely be included in the final version.
A lot of other clips from this draft will also be included in the final version but need their colours enhancing and a better use of transitions needs to be included. The main error in this draft, I think, is that the cameraman's reflection can be seen in the tram at 1:15 so this clip needs to be removed and re-shot.

This draft is very close to being the final version of the film trailer.
The clips all run much smoother beside each other in this version and the colour remains consistent throughout the entire trailer.

The audio does still need editing so that it can be heard better and other logos, such as the Warp Studios logo, needs to be included. The ending and title card also go on much too long, so that also needs editing.

LO4: Evidence

Evidence of production planning

This is an image of us creating the storyboards in pre-production.

Evidence of production

This is a screen recording of me creating the logo for the film trailer through Photoshop. Getting the positioning was quite difficult to do and took a long time.

This is another screen recording for creating the logo for the film trailer, this was mainly just to make sure everything lined up correctly so that the animation ran relatively smoothly in the final trailer.

Lewis filming shots for the gambling scenes, this particular shot is when Kyle realises he has lost all of his money.

Jai filming for the scenes in the trailer that will be included in the 'murder montage'.

Evidence of editing

Here Lewis is importing all the necessary files to edit the trailer.

Here, Jai is cutting two separate clips and matching them up to each other.

These are a screen recordings of us editing the video.

Evidence of creating soundtrack

This is a screen recording of me creating the soundtrack in Garage Band.

LO3: Rushes

These rushes are for the beginning of the trailer. Some shots will changed in editing through colouring to give the whole trailer a better feel.
These are all shots of Kyle getting prepared in the morning, this introduces the audience to the character. There is a combination of different angles and shots, the best will be chosen and used in the final version of the trailer.

This is a combination of shots taken for the beginning of the film trailer. The cloudy weather made these shots naturally dark and dull to fit the atmosphere of the film. In editing, the colour will be edited slightly to add to the feel of the rest of the trailer.

This is a collection of various trailers that may be used in the film trailer. Editing has been experimented with slightly to shows some uses of cuts. There is a mixture of high key lighting and low key lighting depending on it's placement within the trailer. All of these shots' colour will be edited in post-production to match the feel of the rest of the trailer.
