LO2: Copyright permissions for music

These two images show the terms required to use the song 'Victorian Foliage Bauble' by John Fletcher. The song has a Creative Commons Non-Commercial 3.0 logo which means the song is completely free to use for non-commercial purpose, it also means that we have to give appropriate credit. As our film trailer is non-commercial it means we can use this song and beneath the video shall be a link to the song as well as credit to John Fletcher at the end of the video.

We later decided to not use this track and instead create our own using 'GarageBand'. This means that we don't need to request any permission for the use of the soundtrack.

Emailed request for actors:
Dear Louise,
My name is Jai and my team and I are looking for some actors for our production of a film trailer called Royal Flush. Age: Late twenties
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Same as character 1 so that they look as if they are related.
Physical Appearance: Stocky build. Average height.
Character 3
Role: Antagonist. Owner of a casino. He will be in scenes where he is intimidating the protagonist in to becoming a killer.
Age: 35+

Emailed request for Casino use:

Dear Tony
I am emailing in order to make a request to record footage at your casino for a college piece. My team and I have discussed this location and decided it was suitable for the genre and narrative, however we do of course need your permission to use the area. In the footage there shall be no sight of the company’s logo or name.
Our team are all 16 years of age (as of sending this E-mail) but the actors we shall be using will all be over the age of 18 and we shall be under supervision from Arno van der Kraan.
At this moment in time we cannot give you exact times as to when the Casino shall be required, but it shall be between the 8th and 12th of February and shall of course be during closing times as to not affect the business
We are mature teenagers, and we shall be using a variety of expensive equipment so we hope that you shall be able to trust us in using this location respectively.

Yours sincerely,
Jai Van der Kraan

Emailed request for use of Rocking Chair bar

Hello, I am a student currently studying at UTC Sheffield and we would like to enquire about the use of your building for a day to use as a location for a short film.
This is a non-profit project, so we wouldn’t be using this location to earn money.
We would only need to film for a few hours and can do it earlier on in the day, so that we wouldn’t interrupt your business.
We would be filming between the 8th and the 13th of February, so could use the building on any of these days.

Thanks, Lewis Wright

LO2: Location Recce

On the 20th January 2015 we went to scout for locations for our film trailer. All of these places are public property and therefore we do not need any permission to film there. This footage was recorded in order to get a basic idea of one of the first shots in our film trailer.

Here are some shots to show locations we scouted on the 20th January 2015:
